Brown Mottle Ewer with
Applique Decor
Changsha Ware
T'ang Dynasty
(A.D. 618-906)
Height 23cm
This ewer has a
slightly flared mouth, a
full shoulder, a straight
cylindrical belly, and a
flat base. From the shoulder
protrudes a short spout, a
pair of loop handles and a
crooked grip. The areas on
the belly below the loop
handles and the spout are
decorated with brown
applique decor. This is a
common type of Changsha ware.
